ROCK ISLAND-Norma J. Pieper, 95, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The funeral service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island or to the Quad City Music Guild.

Norma was born on October 23, 1925, in Creston, IA, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Houck) Smith. She married Bruce H. Pieper on October 6, 1945 in Rock Island. Norma worked as a secretary for Memorial Christian Church for many years and retired as office manager for Dr. Paul Erickson, DDS, Rock Island. Norma was active at Memorial Christian Church, especially in the choir and spending time with the children during Sunday school. She was a member of 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Norma and Bruce enjoyed performing and volunteering with the Quad City Music Guild theatre in Moline. She was known as the "flower lady," and had received rewards for her beautiful gardens. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Norma is survived by her husband of 75 years, Bruce Pieper, Rock Island; children, Greg (Mary) Pieper, Fish Creek, WI, Chris (Becky) Pieper, Davenport, Debra (Larry) Wakeland, Blue Grass, David (Sharon) Pieper, MN, Kevin (Valeree) Pieper, Moline, and Bonnie (Robert) Warnock, Murry, UT; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Abbott; and brother, Charles Smith.
