EAST LIVERPOOL – Norma R. Richards, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at CrossRoads Assisted Living. She was 97 years old.
Born on August 26, 1928, in Weirton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Opal Williamson. A graduate of St. Mary's High School, Norma dedicated much of her life to serving others. She was active with Meals on Wheels from its inception and served as its president in 1982 and 1983. Norma was also a member of the New Century Club, volunteered with the Columbiana County Mental Health Center, and was involved with the East Liverpool Hospital Auxiliary, as well as other community programs. In her free time, she enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Richards, on March 2, 2005. The couple were married on February 21, 1948, and shared many years together. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Gayle Edgell and Rosalind R. "Roslyn" Richards; her sisters, Pauline Adkins and Janice Elder; and her brothers, Leo Bailey and Bill Higgins.
Norma is survived by her grandson, Steven Edgell, and her son-in-law, Bruce Edgell. She is also survived by her sister Linda Lough.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
