Norma Annette Rose
July 23, 1937 - February 14, 2026
Lexington , Kentucky - Norma Annette Rose, 88, of Nicholasville, formerly of Lexington, passed away peacefully February 14, 2026, surrounded by her adoring children and family.
Norma, or "Annette" as she was known to most, was born on July 23, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee, the only child of Gordon O. Tucker and Elsie Milliron Tucker. Their family moved to Lexington in the early fifties.
Annette attended Lafayette High School where she met the love of her life, Paul Rose, whom she married in 1958 and to whom she remained married for 65 years until Paul's death in 2024.
Annette took joy in raising her four children and then became a teacher. A 1960 graduate of the UK College of Education, she taught kindergarten over several decades at Northern Heights Christian Church, and then Athens and Ashland Elementary schools in Fayette County. Over her many years of teaching, she positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children, with many of whom she maintained a lifelong relationship.
Annette was most proud of the family that she and Paul raised and nurtured over their long marriage. Her greatest joy was spending countless hours with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always supporting and encouraging them in all their endeavors, and consoling them when they were discouraged. All of them are blessed beyond measure to have had her as their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Annette is survived by her sons, Dan M. Rose; Kurt G. Rose, his fiancé Nancy Wylie; Paul Wade Rose, his wife, Dana Davis Rose; daughter Paulann Rose Moore, her husband, Jeff Moore; beloved former daughter-in-law, Jode Rose; 13 grandchildren - Dallas (Courtney) Rose, Sagan Rose (Bretton) Saxon, Connor (Justinne) Rose, Killian Rose (her fiancé Jay Filson), Katie (Ryan) Wilkins, John (Alexa) Rose, Jake (Claudia) Rose, Ashlee (Alex) Hunt, Travis (Christian "Bitty") Rose, Grace (Austin) Messner, Tucker (Ashley) Willis, Blaine (Andrea) Willis, Brieanna (Mike) Pettry – and 26 great grandchildren - Bronson, Dahlia, Mila and Wolfgang Rose; Delphine Saxon; Valentina Rose; Weston, Hadley, McLean and Kate Wilkins; Kellen Rose; Nora and Vivian Hunt; Elsie, Ezra and Addison Rose; Rose, Harrison, Elliot and Augustus Messner; Currie and J. T. Willis; Walker Willis; and Maxwell, Noah and Eli Pettry. Annette also leaves behind her cousin, Becky Dorris (Gee) of Naples, Florida, who was as close as the sister she never had.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her cherished daughter in law, Kelley West Rose, Kurt's wife.
Annette was baptized into Christ as a teenager, and was a lifelong Christian and member of Southland Christian, Hill-N-Dale Christian Church, and Redeemer Community Church (formerly Hill-N-Dale).
Annette leaves an everlasting legacy of love and faithfulness for her family.
