Norma M. Sackal

Norma Marie Sackal, 90, of Mowry Road in Smithfield, passed away on Saturday October 25th surrounded by her family at the Hospice Intake Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Sackal Sr. They had been married for 61 years before his passing in 2019.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Carmine and Anna ( Bianchini ) Palmieri. She had lived in Smithfield previously living in Johnston.
Norma had been a Teacher's Aide with the former Green Acres Country Day School in North Providence before retiring.
She is survived by her children: Mark Sackal and his wife, Lori of Warwick, Albert Sackal, Jr. and his husband, Wes of Smithfield, Lisa Sionni of Cranston and Lori Buchanan and her husband, Walter of Cranston, and her seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, David, Tara, Aryanna, John and Lia. She was the great-grandmother to four. She was the sister of Sandra Rawcliffe of Smithfield.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday October 29th at 11:00am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow in the RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter.
