Norma Jean “Jeanne” Odenbach Smith passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Thornton, Texas. She was 78 years old.
Jeanne was born in Lott, Texas on September 4, 1947, to Wilma Mae Neal Odenbach and Edwin William Odenbach, and attended Rosebud-Lott Schools.

After raising her family, she moved first to Galveston, then to Crystal Beach - the place she loved the most - the beach. An animal lover all her life, she was mom to many four-legged friends and grand-dog-mom to her kids and grandkids’ dogs as well.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Ed; her sister, Shirley Odenbach Walters; brothers, Ed Neal Odenbach and Marlin “Bubba” Odenbach; her former husband, Austin Smith; and her son, Brandy Nash.
She is survived by her daughters, Destry Coker and husband Chris of Thornton and Deanna Nash of Los Angeles; grandson, Tanner Brownen of Thornton; granddaughter, Bryse Rader and husband Tyler and great-granddaughter, Whitley Kaye Rader of Groesbeck; sisters Sue Tacker of Lott and Nora Lee Waits and husband Jerry of Brenham; as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
