Norma J Steinert (nee Sopko) , 90, of Baltimore, MD died quietly at home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was the loving wife of Daniel M. (predeceased) and dedicated daughter of the late Andrew H. and Margaret P. (nee Hlopak) and daughter-in-law of the late Stanley and Mary Steinert.
Norma Jean was the loyal sister-in-law to Richard and Elizabeth Steinert (predeceased) and Phyllis Nickol (predeceased), loving mother to Dana Marie Pickering and mother-in-law to Scott Pickering and devoted Mom-Mom to Kristina Marie Pickering. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many wonderful friends.
Born in Dundalk, MD on Leslie Road, Norma went to school at Sacred Heart of Mary School on Youngstown Avenue. Upon eighth grade graduation she then moved on to The Catholic High School (TCHS) in Baltimore City. She graduated with an emphasis in Business Education and three days after graduation began her career at Bethlehem Steele in Sparrows Point, MD.
Norma Jean was a dog lover (owning four schnauzers in her lifetime) whose hobbies included knitting, crocheting, bowling, ceramics and flower arranging.
