Randolph Steinert, 78, formally from Oshkosh, Wisconsin and presently of Barefoot Bay, Florida passed away after years of battling Vascular Dementia on Monday, November 17, 2025 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.
Randy was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He and his wife Kathy moved to Barefoot Bay in 2013. Randy enjoyed life, family and many friends. Randy was always there to brighten the lives of other with his quick wit and crazy sense of humor. Randy worked for City of Oshkosh Police Department, reaching the rank of Sergeant and Shift Commander for 12 years of the night shift and then 12 years on the day shift where he gained the respect of his co-workers and friends.
He also became a Bailiff for Winnebago Court House.
He had a life-long passion of the water and sailing. After retirement from the police department on 3/15/1992 - Randy took his boat, Seaquest, from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Tarpon Springs, Florida , a 29 day adventure, down the Tombigbee waterway and then 82 hours of Atlantic Ocean sailing from Fairhope, Alabama to Tarpon Springs, Florida. It was his dream come true. He then pursued many sailing adventures to Key West, Dry Tortillas and surrounding areas. Another fun thing he did in Oshkosh and Barefoot Bay was golfing. In Wisconsin he so enjoyed his weekly golf game and lunch afterwards with the boys at Players.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathy Steinert, sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Richard of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and their children Laurie (Steven) Meirswa of Pickett, Wisconsin and Craig (Michelle) Leinweber of Ripon, Wisconsin and grandchildren of Judith and Richard Leinweber who are Sabrina Meirswa ( fiance Taegh Sokhey) of California, Jacob Leinweber (fiance Hilary Leone and her children), Samuel Leinweber, Madalyn Leinweber of Ripon, Wisconsin.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Joyce (Miracle) and Gibert Steinert, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret (Bernhardt) Weitz Bradley and her husbands George Weitz and Dale Bradley. As well as his beloved son, Steven Steinert, 9/17/2020 and his wonderful daughter-in-law Ann (Pistohl) Steinert, 3/17/2024.

Friends and family are asked to join Kathy in a Celebration of his life on Saturday, December 6th from 2 pm -5 pm at Bldg A @ Barefoot Bay Recreation Center!
There will also be a Celebration of his Life in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to be announced when Kathy will be able to travel to Wisconsin, hopefully sometime in April, 2026.
