It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Sapp Teuton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on September 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Norma was born on October 24, 1940, in Crestview, Florida, to Cleatus Jarvis Sapp Sr. and Euline Sapp. She was 84 years old at the time of her passing.
Norma’s life was marked by her deep devotion to her family and her unwavering commitment to her community. She was married to Dr. Ottis Foy Teuton, Jr. on June 2, 1979, creating a beautiful partnership that lasted for 46 cherished years. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, support, and faith.
Throughout her life, Norma was a dedicated mother, raising her children with love and guidance. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Cleatus Jarvis (CJ) Sapp Sr., and her three children: Daphne Lynn Givens, Deborah Ann Givens, and Channing Carthel Givens. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Ottis Foy Teuton, Jr.; her daughter, Stephanie Givens Donnelly; step-daughter Natalie Faye Teuton; step-son Mark Allen Teuton; daughter-in-law Jennifer Marie Givens; her cherished grandchildren, Maxim Dunham Elder, Jacob Channing Givens, Mark Allen Teuton Jr., and Krystal Rachelle Thompson. As well as her beloved great granddaughter Emaline Grace Thompson.
Norma enjoyed a successful career as a federal employee, showcasing her strong work ethic and determination. Norma's academic journey culminated in a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Columbia College following her federal service.
Beyond her professional life, Norma was a vibrant member of her community. She was a member of Altrusa International's Marietta-Cobb Georgia Club in 2001. Her leadership qualities shone brightly as she served in various capacities, including Membership Chair, Vice President, and President of the Marietta-Cobb Club. Norma was instrumental in starting the Altrusa International North Georgia Club, which earned its charter on August 19, 2005. For six years, she served as its President and went on to hold several distinguished roles at the Altrusa District Three level, including Membership Chair, New Club Building Chair, and Governor from 2015-2017. At the international level, she contributed her talents as an International Director from 2019 to 2021. She was also a past member at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
Norma's passions included hiking, boating, and traveling and relishing the moments spent at their condo in Palmetto, Florida. Her zest for life was infectious, as she found joy in the little things and cherished time spent with family and friends. Norma's devotion to God, her family, friends, and pets was evident in everything she did.
Funeral services will be held September 19, 2025, at Ingram Funeral Home, located at 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040.
Visitation begins at 9:00 am followed by a chapel service at 10:30 AM. The interment service will be held at 1:00 pm at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, GA 30114.
Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to all who have supported us during this difficult time. Norma Sapp Teuton will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.
