Norma J. Vance, age 91, of Lincoln Village, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on January 1, 1934, in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Eugene Fyffe and Mildred Pollard.
Norma's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of family, friendship, and an abundance of joy. She was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband, Thomas Vance; her dear sister, Dorothy Fyffe; and her precious daughter, Teresa Riley. While her absence leaves a void, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
She is survived by her son, James Vance. Norma took great pride in her grandchildren, Charles (Jennifer) Riley, Tony (Linnie) Riley, and Renee Vance, who filled her life with laughter and love. Her heart overflowed with joy for her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who were beams of light in her life. She shared countless special moments with her siblings, Betty Hubbard, Charles Fyffe, Ann (Bud) Smith, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her.
A devoted employee, Norma retired from Big Bear in 1996 after 34 wonderful years, where she forged lasting friendships and impacted countless lives. Known for her vivacious spirit, she embraced life with enthusiasm. Norma had a special love for Elvis, and her home was adorned with her cherished owl collection. She found joy in playing Bunko, ballroom dancing, and bingo, activities that brought her family and friends together. Gardening and creating ceramics were her creative outlets, while traveling and visiting the casino offered her adventures that she treasured.
The family's gratitude is especially extended to Teresa Reid and Mount Carmel Hospice for the love and care they provided during her final days. Norma's love was an everlasting gift that her family will carry with them, and she will be deeply missed.
Norma J. Vance was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever resonate in the lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Norma's remarkable life on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Newcomer SW Chapel, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Calling hours will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, with a funeral service beginning promptly at 12:30 pm. A burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, where she will rest surrounded by the beauty of nature she so cherished.
