NORMA J. ZILO
1944 - 2025

Norma Jaye Zilo; Age 81, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, loved by many, passed away peacefully with family by her side Friday, November 14, 2025, at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan. She was born January 15, 1944 to Robert and Norma Curry (née Derry) in Highland Park, Michigan.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph "Sonny" Zilo (d. 2024); her siblings Roberta (d. 2008), JoAnn (d. 2016), Gordon (d. 2013), Gail (d. 1991), and Mary (d. 2022). She is survived by her devoted children, Brian Anthony Zilo (Frankie) and Christina Marie Moeller (Steven); and her cherished grandchildren, Marisa, Anthony, Claire, and Lucas, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Norma found happiness in the simple, meaningful moments-sharing time with family and friends, the companionship of dogs, quiet afternoons spent reading, and the fun of an occasional casino trip. In recent years, she treasured the deep friendship and support of Cheryle and Ray Hammons, whose presence brought comfort and laughter.

Norma and Ralph's love story began in Detroit in the 1960s, not knowing they had grown up just houses apart. They married in September 1970 and built a life grounded in love, humor, and unwavering devotion to their family.

Norma's warmth, wit, and steadfast love leave an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the family she held so close to her heart. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

In honor of Norma's love of reading, please consider a donation to the Sterling Heights Public Library in lieu of flowers. Details can be found at:
