Normalea Claire Dykema, age 84, of Holland (Zeeland), Michigan met her Savior and was reunited with her husband, Edward, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born on March 23, 1941, to Henry and Angeline Bolman. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Dykema and brother Glenn Bolman. She is survived by her children, Curt and Diane Dykema, Craig and Sheryl Dykema, Chad and Kate Dykema, Chip and Melissa Dykema, Christy and Shawn Pacanowski; 16 cherished grandchildren, 8 beloved great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law John Dykema, and her sister-in-law Emily Bolman. Normalea loved God and she loved others. Her mission in life was to encourage, nurture, and restore relationships with God and with others. She lived that out in countless ways. She and Ed devoted many years to raising their five children, and as they got older, she made staying connected with them a priority. She truly wanted to know what was happening in the lives of her children and grandchildren and she loved cheering them on at sporting events, in their relationships, and in whatever else they were excited about. Early on, she and Ed shared their love of singing through the Gospel Tone Trio, and later included their children to form the Dykema Family Singers, blessing countless churches with their music. Together, they helped lead numerous praise gatherings in the homes of friends. Normalea thrived on relationships. Her generous heart made people feel welcomed and valued. She loved spending time with others and approached life with a joyful warmth and enthusiasm that were infectious. She invested in mentoring women and teens, loving and caring for people as a volunteer with Hospice of Holland, and encouraging the ladies in her accountability group. She would drop everything to be with a friend. She lit up in the presence of others-- the more the merrier was her mantra. Between card games, lunch dates, breakfast clubs, impromptu meet-ups, and deep talks over chips and cheese, it was clear that people mattered most to her. Normalea truly lived out her mission statement to encourage, nurture, and restore relationships with God and with others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. A celebration of Normalea's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 11, 2025, at Family Church's Grace Campus, 9530 Woodbridge St., Zeeland MI 49464.
