Funeral services for Norman Basham, 71, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.

Norman passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his home.

Norman Dennis Basham was born on January 11, 1954, in Whitwell, TN, to parents William Robert Basham and Margie Ruth Long Basham. He was raised in East Dallas and graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School. Norman proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before attending IEC Technical College, where he earned his Journeyman Electrician certification.

In 1980, Norman married Mary Mottweiler. The couple lived in Dallas before moving to Wills Point in 2000 to enjoy country life. Together, they raised two sons before later divorcing. Norman worked for Dallas County Building Maintenance until his retirement in 2012.

He had a passion for resale shopping, always searching for that next â€sfortune find.â€t His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandchildren.

Norman is survived by his son, Justin Basham of Wills Point, TX; brothers Gary Basham of Crandall, TX, Rodney Basham of Keller, TX, Harold Basham of Dallas, TX, Ronald Basham of Plano, TX, and Bryan Basham of TN; and grandchildren Ileana Basham and Laynie Basham.

Visitation will be held from 6:00â€"8:00 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
