CUMBERLAND
Norman J. Bazinet, 94, of Cumberland passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of Jeanne (Gouin) Bazinet, and they had been married for the past 72 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Lionel and Ernestine (Dubriel) Bazinet. He moved to Cumberland in 1965, previously residing in Pawtucket and Central Falls.
Norman entered the United States Navy where he served our country faithfully for four years until he was honorably discharged in 1951.
Mr. Bazinet was employed as a Plant Superintendent for Collier Insulated Wire in Lincoln until his retirement.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working around his flower beds. He also enjoyed crafts in his later years, especially building bird houses for family and friends, but most of all he cherished spending time with his beloved bride and family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Paul J. Bazinet and his wife Charo of New Mexico, Dennis J. Bazinet and his wife Mariann of Franklin, MA, Elaine M. Muto and her husband Jeff of Smithfield, Robert J. Bazinet and his wife Sandra of Smithfield; his half-sister Lil Lau of Warwick, his ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Therese Lutz, and Roger Bazinet.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Norman's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM, and continuing on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Prayer service will be held at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will be held in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI 02896.
