Jeffrey D. Murphy, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in RI Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Nancy (Mortimer) Murphy. They have been married for the past 59 years.

Born in Fall River, MA., he was the son of the late Francis M. and Nathalie (Peckham) Murphy. Jeff resided in Cumberland for the past 55 years, previously residing in Fall River and Augusta, GA., during his military service.

He was a US Army Veteran serving faithfully during the Vietnam War.
He was an avid golfer and tennis player.

Jeff was employed as a Sales Manager for the former Hills Office Supply of Pawtucket until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Michael Murphy and his wife Kathleen of New Jersey, and his sister Nathalie Conway and her husband Thomas of Norton, MA., along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of Jean Murphy, and Mary Murphy. He was the brother of the late Frank Murphy, Robert Murphy, Thomas Murphy, and Gerald Murphy.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM in the Four Corner Community Chapel, 200 Angell Road Cumberland, RI. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI 02864.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
