Norman Benoit died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on September 7th, 2025 in Fairfax, Vermont at the age of 84.

Norman is survived by his wife Jacqueline Benoit, his children Lynn Benoit (Jody), Mark Benoit (Jen) and Eric Benoit (Marie), his grandchildren Mindy Hurley (Devin), Teia Benoit (Devin), Brooke Benoit (Cory), Alyssa Benoit, Sierra Benoit (Ryan), Tanner Benoit (Katie), and Taylor Martell, and his great-grandchildren Trent, Grady, Charlie, Camden, Carson, Emalynn, Elyza, Kinsley, Waylon, Adeline and Oakley. Norman is also survived by his sister Mary (Dennis) Shorey. Norman was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Benoit Martell as well as his siblings Dorothy Scanlon, Leo Benoit, Claire Benoit and Evie Ashline.

Norman was born on October 10th, 1940 in St. Albans, Vermont to Salime and Doris Benoit. He married Jacqueline, the love of his life on October 30th, 1965 and shortly after bought their property in Fairfax where they raised their family. He served in the Army before returning home to support his family after his father's passing. Norman held many jobs over the course of his life, but his true passion was farming.

Norman was a devoted farmer whose dedication to the land was matched only by his quick wit and sense of humor. Whether in the field or at the table, he had a way of making hard work lighter and bringing laughter to those around him.

Being a man who lived a quiet life, it is Norman's wish not to have a funeral. If you find yourself reflecting about him, take a walk in the country. Feel the breeze, the sun, and the beauty around you. Soak in the smells and enjoy the sounds. At night if you look to the sky, you'll see the lights of heaven shining through the stars. Enjoy what God has given us.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Bayada Home Health Care as well as the Veterans Administration.
