Dr. Norman A. Campbell, 89, of Narragansett, RI, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025 in Warwick, Rhode Island. Son of the late Norman H. and Victoria (Moussally) Campbell. He is survived by his wife Mary (Hodde) of 68 years, 3 children, Debra Rugg and her husband John, Linda Carver and her husband Robert, and Michael Campbell and his wife

Joyce, 9 grandchildren; Kristin and her husband Nick, Alison, Samantha, Catherine, Kayla, Diana, Kyrie, Leia & Cristian. His 2 great grandchildren Sage & Wren. As well as his sister Barbara (Spencer) and her husband Herrick, his nephew and niece, Brian and Megan, and their families.

Norman was a well-educated man, earning multiple degrees throughout his life. He graduated with a BS in Pharmacy from the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy in 1957, he earned an MBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin in 1961, he received a JD in Law from the New England School of Law in 1968, he received a PhD in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1972.

He then went on to become a Professor of Pharmacy Administration in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island for over 30 years. He also proudly held the position of Associate Dean during his time at URI. He was a pillar in the pharmaceutical community and had the honor of becoming a member of the URI College of Pharmacy Hall of Fame. He held many other professional positions such as, Teaching Assistant, Assistant Professor, Department Chair, Advisor to many student organizations and an Attorney. He maintained his license as a Registered Pharmacist throughout his career.

Norman was a lector and Eucharistic minister of Saint Thomas More parish in Narragansett, Rhode Island for many decades. He was a beloved member of many organizations including the Narragansett Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Narragansett Town School committee, Town of Narragansett Little League Board of Directors and Coach, Kappa Psi Fraternity where he served as Grand Regent and the American Pharmacists Association. Norman was also proudly elected the President of the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association from 1975-1976 and Honorary President of the APhA. As well as a founding member of the American Society for Pharmacy Law.

Norman had a love of golf, eating delicious food, traveling the world, photographing his favorite moments and spending quality time with family. His family will continue to cherish the memories of sitting around the dinner table laughing at his "grandpa" jokes and listening to his incredible stories. He will always be remembered as an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle mentor and friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 19th at 10am in Saint Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St. Narragansett, RI 02882. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th from 4pm-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI 02879.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, Norman A. & Mary Campbell Scholarship. Gifts can be made online at alumni.uri.edu/campbell. Also, checks may be made to the URI Foundation, PO Box 1700, Kingston, RI 02881, with a note in the memo line directing it to the Campbell scholarship
