Norman Carpenter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service - New Haven on Jul. 6, 2025.
Norman Floyd Carpenter- May 3, 1935-July 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Carpenter, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Norman was born on May 3, 1935, in East Detroit, Michigan (now known as Eastpointe). He peacefully departed this world on July 4, 2025, in Clinton Township, Michigan at the age of 90.
Norman was a father who loved his children very much and would always find time to be with us. He would greet us with a big smile, a kiss and a great big hug. Even when he was nearing death, he was telling us jokes and smiling saying he was happy and telling us he loved us. He leaves behind his children; Kathleen (Thomas) Robinson, Steven (Felicia) Carpenter, Laurie (John) Weingartz, Patricia Blitz, Kevin (Ruth Ann) Carpenter and son-in-law, Richard VanHevel, all of whom he dearly cherished.
His legacy of love continues to thrive through his grandchildren; Joshua Robinson, Sarah Terrell (Dan Modrich), Melissa (Mark) Lehman, Eric (Alicia) VanHevel, Nicholas Moore, Jessica Carpenter, Craig Carpenter, Alex Carpenter, Amy Weingartz, Jonathon Weingartz and Breanne Blitz. His influence also extends to his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Damon and Kora.
Norman now joins in eternal rest with those who preceded him in death, his beloved wife, Donna, children, Wendy VanHevel and Cindy Moore, parents, Thomas and Phoebe Carpenter as well as his dear brothers and sisters, Kathleen, James, Frances, Kenneth, Joyce and Harry. His spirit, kindness and love will forever be remembered by those he leaves behind. His kindness and enduring love touched the lives of many, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
