Norman Davis, M.D. age 95, passed away February 21, 2025. Born on January 24, 1930 to Moshe and Hilda Davis, Norman Davis grew up in Youngstown, Ohio with two sisters and two brothers. Norman attended The Ohio State University School of Medicine, served in the US Army Reserve, and practiced allergy at Mt Carmel East until he retired at age 65. He was beloved by all his patients, and they would remember him as the kindest, most compassionate of doctors. He lived his life the same way he practiced medicine, with compassion and kindness to every person who came into his long life. Norman lived a very rich, full, dignified life with a remarkable joy for a sweet treat, a good football game or a well-grilled hot dog. He loved sharing his colorful stories of growing up in Youngstown. He had an endless number of stories about Ohio State, the Army, his medical practice and his conversations with friends at Dunkin' Donuts. Most importantly, he loved creating memories and stories with his wife Roberta, his children and their families, including, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. While he experienced great loss and tragedy in his life, he also experienced the very best of life, and he loved and appreciated his own. In his last days, he smiled and pointed up and said, "Look at the blue sky!" That was Norman. Always looking up.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Roberta Davis; children, Karen Davis, Rachel Davis, Murray (Jill) Davis, and Paula Davis (Adam Holland); brothers, Sid Davis and Irv Davis; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens - Temple Israel Section, 5600 E Broad Street, Columbus. Norman's family will sit Shiva at the home of Murray and Jill Davis immediately following the service until 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family invites Norman's friends to honor him by making a donation to Flying Horse Farms (www.flyinghorsefarms.org) in support of their summer program for children with mental health challenges or Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (www.support.fidf.org).
