Norman George Dulinski

Norman G. Dulinski, age 93, of Toledo, passed away on March 25, 2021, Memorial Hospital, Savannah, GA. Born on April 21, 1927, in Toledo in the Kuschwantz Polish neighborhood to Vincent Dulinski and Anna (Czerniak) Dulinski. He was a graduate of Nativity Catholic Grade School and Macomber High School. Norm enlisted in the United States Coast Guard at age 17 and served during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Wakefield transporting troops, wounded GI's and German prisoners of war. His position was Fireman 1st Class. Upon discharge, he attended the University of Toledo.

Norman married Rita P. Nowicki on November 11, 1967, in Nativity Parish. She predeceased him on September 11, 2007. They were longtime members of St. Clement Catholic Church and Regina Coeli Catholic Church.

Norm's professional career included 50 years in the lumber and building supply industry. His last two positions were with Crown Store Supply and Allen A. Smith in millwork sales where he retired from in 1992.

Norm was a proud active member of the Conn Weissenberger American Legion Post and an usher for Regina Coeli Catholic Church. He was also an immensely proud grandfather who never missed any sporting event or activity they had.

Norm had a lifelong love of golf and learned to play when he was a caddie at the Inverness Club. He was a dedicated walker when playing golf and was able to shoot his age when he was 74. He has also had 2 hole-in-ones. Over the years he has been a member at Chippewa Golf Club, Fremont Country Club and Tameron Country Club. He also attended the 2005 Masters with his son and wife. Another favorite trip was when he was able to go on the Honor Flight to Washington DC with other WWII vets to visit the WWII Memorial.

Norm was a founding member of The Cavalier Club and a volunteer CYO basketball coach at St. Catherine of Siena and St Clement. He was also a 50+ year season ticket holder of University of Toledo Basketball.

Norm is survived by his son, Tom (Kim) Dulinski of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Drew and Taylor; also, his brother-in-law, Joseph (Rosemary) Nowicki; and sister-in-law, Shirley Nowicki.
