Our beloved Dad, Norman David Eads Sr of Tyler Tx, passed quietly and peacefully at his home the morning of Tuesday January 31, 2023.
Norman was born in Prescott, Ar. and spent his primary and teen years in several cities in Arkansas with his parents (whom have preceded him in death) Wilma Jean (Tate) and Norman Dale Eads, and surviving siblings, Wanda Read of California, Md, Wendell Eads of Tyler, Tx, and Carol (Greg) Duncan of Rowlett, Tx.
Upon the family moving to Tyler, Tx, Norman worked as a delivery man, a salesman, and an office assistant for his father who owned Reliable Furniture on Gentry Pkwy. He continued working through to his graduation at John Tyler High.
Norman then graduated from Tyler Junior College while working a full time job at Kelly Springfield Tire Co. and then moved his own young family to Denton, Tx where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from North Texas State University (now UNT) in 1970.
Throughout Norman's career and work life, he found success working as a time-share location manager and various sales manager positions for other companies. In later years he successfully owned a transportation company.
Norman's profound and lovable spirit enjoyed him many proud moments with his children David (Cindy) Eads of Little Elm, Tx, Jeff (Jodi) Eads of San Antonio, Tx, Michealle (Joe) Spencer of Troup, Tx, John (Kelly) Eads of Tyler, Tx, and Alan (Arlena)Eads of Troup, Tx.
Music was very much a big part of Norman's heart, and playing the guitar and recording songs for family was a passion of his. The favorites were his identical renditions of Elvis.
Politics, moral standards, and ground-breaking social issues were always a matter of topic for round table discussions and we enjoyed hearing his point of view. Good laughs were also a joy.
Norman was very proud and often bragged on his grand children Jeremy (Heather) Spencer of Troup, Tx, David (Rachel) Eads of Galveston, Tx, Taylor (Justin) Esquibel of Aledo, Tx, Morgan Barnes of San Antonio, Tx, John Michael Eads of Tyler, Tx, Garrett Eads of Gainesville, Tx, Alana Rae Eads of Troup, Tx, AJ Eads of Tyler, Tx, and Jeffrey Eads of San Antonio, Tx.
Norman was blessed with 15 great grand children: Wyatt, Brandon, Noah, Emmy, Jaxon, Claire, Charli, Emily, Eli, Summer, Abel, Zailyn, Jagger, Kaleb, and Oaklyn.
Norman's life celebration will be hosted by his children at Hilliard Funeral Home in Van, Tx on the day of his birth, Saturday February 11th at 10am. All are welcome to attend.
