Norman Gettier Obituary
Norman Jr. was born in Baltimore, MD to Norman Sr. and Lila Gettier. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Baltimore, and worked in the accounting and finance industry his entire professional career. In 1965, he married Janice. They raised two sons, Gary and Rob.
Bud spent a significant portion of his younger years dedicated to coaching sports teams for Arbutus Little League and for Arbutus Boys Basketball League. He left a lasting impression on many young people over the years. Talk to them now and they will still mention the impact he had on them. He also had a passion for local sports teams and for his four grandkids. He loved to watch and cheer for the Orioles, Ravens and Terps. When he was able, he attended every youth sporting event for his grandchildren. These sports included baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and football.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Norman Sr., and his mother, Lila. He is survived by his sister Linda, ex-wife Janice, his two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gary (Cheri) and Rob (Sarah), and his four grandchildren Jamey, Torie, Brooke and Kyle.
A celebration of life will take place at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Arbutus Little League at Arbutus LL 4405 Ridge Dr, Baltimore, MD 21229.
