Norman Kendrick Kimzey, 88, of Hale, Missouri; passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at his home.
He was born October 4, 1936, in Milo, Iowa, son of Merle and Guila (Clark) Kimzey, Sr. He married Barbara Kimzey and Phyllis Kimzey, both of whom preceded him in death.
Norman attended a one room school in rural Milo, Iowa, the Culpepper Elementary School and then to Liberty Center High School in Liberty Center, Iowa. He was a farmer most of his life and had worked at Iowa Casket painting caskets early in life and created his own business painting caskets which he did for many years. He worked as an autoworker for General Motors Leeds for 28 years and had worked as a corrections officer in Cameron, Missouri for 6 years. He had lived on the family farm outside of Milo, Iowa growing up and had lived in Chicago, Illinois, Gladstone, Missouri, Sweet Springs, Missouri, Cameron, Missouri and Hale, Missouri.
Survivors include a son, David Kimzey and wife Christine, Blue Springs, Mo; a daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Brozovich, Liberty, Mo; four grandchildren, Sarah Brozovich-Drown, Matthew Brozovich, Brandon Foose and Shauna Foose, several great grandchildren, several stepchildren and step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Julie Foose, two brothers, Merle Kimzey, Melvin Kimzey, a sister Enid Larsen, grandson, Christopher Foose, granddaughter, Melissa Foose.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Bittiker Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Plainville Cemetery in Milo, Iowa.
The family suggests contributions to American Legion Post 263, 210 Main St., Milo, Iowa 50166
