Norman Peterson

Norman Peterson, beloved father and friend to many in Ashland, passed away on April 30th at the age of 82. Norman was born on September 11th, 1940 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Art and Irene. He grew up in the area and attended DePadua High School, and developed a love for the game of baseball. He continued to play American Legion club ball and then softball for most of his life.

After high school, Norman attended County Normal Teachers College and began his career as an educator. However, he eventually found his career at the Ashland Paper Mill, where he worked for James River Corporation until retirement. Norman was known for his quick wit and clever humor, and he had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease.

Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed long walks in the woods and picking blueberries in the Barrens. He had a deep appreciation for nature, and he passed on this love to his children.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of humor and love of sports and the outdoors will live on through his family and friends. Norman is survived by his two sons, Kevin and Wesley, his sister Linda, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family has asked, in support of Norman's wishes, that in lieu of a ceremony and flowers donations be made in his memory to the Parkinson's Foundation.
