Norman E. Switzer, 68, born August 14, 1956, passed away on April 21,2025, currently of Parksley, Virginia but born and raised in New Jersey.
Norman was a beloved father, pop pop, uncle, brother and friend. Many knew him as big Norm or Stormin Norman.
Norman is survived by his son, Jason & wife Heidi & granddaughter Isabelle; his son, Norman; his daughter, Melissa; son-in-law, Mike & grandson Logan; his niece, Lisa; and nephew, Danny & wife Joann.
Norman was a simple man who loved his family, Dallas Cowboys, his lottery & coffee, time outdoors especially in his garden, mud hops and boat races. He enjoyed playing for the buzzards, loved to go to his grandsons football or baseball games. Norman was always building something, as he dedicated his life and love of building to his framing business & long time career in the Heavy and General Laborers Union Local 172. Luckily for a lot of us this skill paid off and he helped so many build things at their houses!
He was predeceased by his mother, Agnes Strapko; father, Martin Switzer; his son, David, who we hope he is reconnected with again; brother, Martin Switzer; sister, Evelyn; Wayne Strapko; Dave Vansant; and Aunt Dot, who he spent many of his younger years living with.
Norman was a true lover of all animals, his family and friends. We hope that whoever came across him in life will remember all the good times and let his spirit live on.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Isabelle and Logan's education, as he would love to make sure they succeed in life.
