Norman Eugene Thole passed away September 1, 2025, at his home in Loveland, Colorado with family by his side.
Norman was born November 19, 1953, in Wichita, KS to Elmer John Ralph and Lillie Lillian (Langley) Thole. He was the baby of the family and grew up around Wichita and Fall River Lake where the family spent time fishing, hunting, boating, camping and horseback riding. Norman loved cars and always had toys including boats, motorcycles, classic cars and various trucks over the years. Norman loved watching sports and was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Boston Celtics. He graduated from Wichita North High School with the class of 1971 and attended Wichita State University.
Norman worked as an independent landman securing oil and gas leases for various companies in the 70's and early 80's. Then he switched to selling new and used cars and eventually owned T-N-T Auto Group of Andover, Augusta, and Derby. In 2000, Norman gave up the car business and went back to the oil and gas industry and moved to Fall River Lake across the road from his parents, where he raised his three kids.
Norman reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Debra Barnes on September 1, 2005, and the two were united in marriage on October 14, 2005, and made Spring Hill, KS their home. Norman gained three bonus children in this union that he loved very much. The family home in Spring Hill evolved over the years to welcome the entire family and they enjoyed so many holidays, birthdays and family celebrations; he was very proud of that home. Deb and Norman shared 20 years together traveling all over to places like Belize, Santa Fe, Hawaii, Florida and the keys, and an Alaskan cruise just to name a few and enjoyed countless concerts and plays together over the years. Together, they welcomed seven grandchildren into the world and enjoyed every moment with them. In 2017, Deb and Norman moved to Loveland, Colorado.
Norman was kind and loving to all and never truly encountered a problem in which he couldn't find a solution. He cared deeply for his family and Deb, his lovely bride as he called her, and made them his priority until he parted this world. He made sure everyone had everything they needed and wanted over the years including horses, dogs, cats, cars, trucks, and RV's. He carried on his love of fishing, hunting, camping, boating, cars and horses throughout the years creating many lasting memories.
Norman is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Thole, mother, Lillie Thole and second mother, Opal Thole, his brother, Jerry Thole, and sister, Barbara Thole, and mother in law Johelen Fincham
He is survived by his wife Debra Thole, of the home, his children Tyler Thole, Fredonia, KS, Ashli Thole, Salina, KS, and Elizabeth Thole, Salina, KS, Zach (Jennifer) Greenlee of Baldwin City, KS, Courtney (Tom) Severin, Severance, CO, and Josh (Caitlin) Greenlee, Chelsea, Michigan, and seven grandchildren: Makayla, Jacob, Samuel, Ella, Cozmo, Mordecai, and Jack, and sisters Vicki Dixon and Janice Smith and many other family and friends.
