On April 14, 2025, Norman Westerfield Jr., a man of strong faith, formidable strength and an unyielding love for his family and friends, took his peaceful journey home.
Born on June 28, 1947, in Meridian, MS, USA, Norman spent most of his life in Chicago, Illinois, where he was not just a resident but an integral part of the community. A seasoned ironworker, Norman found his purpose in the intricate craftsmanship of his work, leaving his mark on the world through his contributions to Campbell Soup and Manchester Tank. A man of many talents, Norman was also known for his skill on the lanes at Chippewa Bowling alley, a hobby he pursued with the same commitment and enthusiasm that defined his professional life.
Norman was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse Sharon, whom he shared life's joys and challenges with unyielding love and companionship. He was also a proud father, leaving behind his loving daughter Antoinette (Pamela Wilson) Easley, sons Robert Easley, and William Easley. Two special grandchildren Diamond Easley and William Easley, Jr. His brother, Jimmy Grady, and special cousins James and Cathy Nunn, will remember Norman's unwavering loyalty and love. Norman's legacy is also carried forward by his 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vallie Sharp and Norman Westerfield, and his sons, Norman Jr., Patrick Westerfield, and Carl Westerfield, who are undoubtedly welcoming him with open arms in Heaven.
In the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Norman lived his life true to this verse, meeting every challenge head-on, persisting in every race life offered, and keeping his faith unwaveringly. He was a man of few words and enormous actions, his life serving as a testament to his strength, determination, and love for his family. Though his absence leaves a void that can never be filled, Norman's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His enduring spirit, his laughter, his stories, and his love will continue to inspire and guide us.
We invite you to share your memories of Norman on his memorial page and upload photos that capture the essence of this remarkable man. Let us celebrate Norman's life and legacy together, as he would have wanted us to: with love, laughter, and shared memories.
