She was born January 21, 1925 in Cherry Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Walter L. and Lucielle A. Abbey Henderson.
Nova was a graduate of Cherry Creek High School and was employed by MRC for 23 years retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, Cherry Creek and attended Wheeler Hill United Methodist Church. Nova enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She along with her late husband Roger enjoyed 20 years during their retirement of spending winters in Dade City, Florida.
Surviving are two sons: Gary Casten of Decatur, GA, Randy Casten of Ravenna, OH; two grandchildren: Todd Casten, LeAnn (Steve) Gallagher; five great grandchildren: Samantha Gallagher, Mallory Gallagher, Amber (Matthew) Hissett, Cole Casten, Mason Casten; 2 great great granddaughters Lea Faith Hissett, and Emma Rose Hissett.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger R. Casten whom she married September 21, 1946 in Cherry Creek, NY; who died July 10, 2017 and a brother Walter L. "Bud" Henderson.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Cherry Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be donated to a charity of one's choice.
