Nova L. Ferguson, age 79, of Sycamore, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Hospice of Central Ohio at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
Nova was born on September 20, 1946, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to James B. and Nellie (Hudson) Taylor, both of whom are deceased. She married Timothy L. Ferguson on March 22, 1964,and he survives.
She is also survived by her 2 sons: Matthew (Kim) Ferguson of Big Island, Ohio, and Craig (Michelle) Ferguson of Sycamore. 3 grandchildren, Jeremy (Arica) Ferguson, Jason (Lynn) Ferguson, and Lauren Ferguson along with 4 great grandchildren, Keegan, Wyatt, Henry and Gracelyn Ferguson.
Nova is also survived by her 2 sisters, Rhoda (Tom) Redmond, and Ann (Phil) Williamson, both of Bucyrus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Ferguson.
Nova was a 1964 graduate of Bucyrus High School, and since 1960, she attended the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church, where she was active within the church with their music ministry by playing the piano and also teaching music at the Penial Camp for many years.
She was a woman of faith, and enjoyed reading the scriptures and also had a heart for others, in which she prayed for daily.
Funeral services for Nova L. Ferguson will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, February 28, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home with Pastors Steven Malone and Brian Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Friday, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home, and 2 hours before service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Gideons International, and or, the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church, and can be sent to Lucas Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
