MERCEDES - With profound sorrow, the De La Torre family announces the passing of Nubia Jaqueline Bravo, born on October 27, 1998, beloved daughter of Trinidad and Nubia De La Torre.

From a young age, Nubia was a joyful and playful soul. She loved playing with her Barbies and always shared a special bond with her siblings-one filled with love and closeness. She was a phenomenal sister, always ready to offer support, love, and happiness to everyone around her. Her passion for learning was evident early on, and over time she developed a love for makeup-something that made her feel happy and in control of her world. Nubia not only loved doing makeup, but she was also creative in many ways-the Picasso of her family. She loved to draw and paint, and every stroke reflected her heart. Nubia was the life of every family gathering. She enjoyed cookouts, trips to the beach and parks, and especially traveling to San Antonio, which always excited her. Her favorite food was Chick-fil-A, and she never said no to an iced coffee. Always impeccable, with her makeup perfectly done and her radiant energy, Nubia brightened every place she entered with her smile and contagious joy. Above all, Nubia was a loving and devoted mother. Her children were her greatest treasure, and she dedicated herself fully to caring for, protecting, and guiding them with all the love a mother can give. Her final act of kindness and heroism was saving the children at her daycare from a terrible tragedy-once again showing her immense heart and courageous spirit. She loved all of her daycare kids as if they were her own, and her devotion to them reflected the purity of her soul. Her passing leaves an unfillable void, but her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

She is survived with deep sorrow by her children, Marcus Huerta and Saul Esquivel; her parents, Trinidad and Nubia De La Torre; her siblings, Trinidad De La Torre Jr., Joselin Rodriguez, Sabina Marie De La Torre, Alexa De La Torre, and Alexandra De La Torre; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Salinas Funeral Home in Weslaco on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 1 p.m. and continue overnight, with a rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 2 p.m., followed by burial at Sacred Park Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Salinas Funeral Home.
