Obituary
FALL RIVER Nuno M. Pires, 68, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Clara (de Jesus) Pires.
Born in Prados, Portugal, he was a son of the late Jose Pires and Luciana (Cruz) Pires.
Prior to retiring, Nuno worked for many years as a weaver at the former Quaker Fabric Corporation. He was a faithful Christian, who enjoyed praying, reading the bible, going to church, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Jacqueline Medeiros (spouse Roberto), Emanuel Pires (spouse Lydia), and Rosa Cunha (spouse Steve); his siblings: Antonio Pires, Joaquina Coelho, Mena Gomes, Filipe Pires, Jose Pires; his grandchildren: Gabriela, Anthony, Parisch, Arianna, Brayden, Vincent, Gabriel, and Samuel; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 9 - 11 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
