Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruby Memorial Funeral & Cremation Services on Jan. 23, 2026.
With a heart full of sorrow and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful transition of our beloved Nutan Malik, 63 of
Union City, NJ on January 22, 2026. Born in Pathankot, India, to late Sh. Dharamvir and Smt. Krishna Rani Makol, Nutan (affectionately known as "Ginu") was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of profound resilience, devotion, and unwavering faith. She was married to her loving husband, Harish Malik from a young age.
A lifelong learner, Nutan earned a Master's in Hindi and a Bachelor of Education from Kurukshetra University. Though she began a career as an elementary teacher, she chose to dedicate her life to raising her children, Anuj and Sonali. Nutan was a devout Hindu whose faith was the cornerstone of her life- guiding her actions, sustaining her through hardships, and inspiring those around her. In the last decade of her life, she immigrated to the United States to be closer to her family, building a new life rooted in sacrifice and joy. She found great joy in knitting, cooking for others, and nurturing her grandchildren. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has returned to her heavenly abode in the care of her Guru Maharaj.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harish Malik; her children, Anuj and Sonali, her daughter in law Nasreen and her beloved grandchildren, Raina and Reyansh. She will also be fondly remembered by her brothers, Satish, Anil, and Raman Makol, sisters-in-law Aruna, Rashmi and Geeta Makol and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sunita Puri, brother-in-law Sh. Yashpal puri and nephew Manuneet Puri.
