Henry Joseph Malik, born on September 27, 1940, in
Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully departed this world on January 6, 2026, in
Deer Park, Texas.
Henry was the devoted husband of Madonna Marie Malik, and together, they built a family full of love, humor, and mischief. He is preceded in death by his wife Madonna, his parents, Henry Albert Malik and Lucille F. Malik, his sister Christine Stironek, and his grandson, Gavin Espinoza. He is survived by his son, Henry "Chip" Malik Jr., his wife Krista, and his grandchildren Wesley, Casey, his wife, Christine, and his great-grandchildren Aurora, Calliope, and Aurelius; Hanna Malik and her husband Junior Soto, and Brett Malik and his wife Brooke Bogan; his son Russell Malik and his wife, Lisa, and his grandchildren, Joseph and his wife, Kayla, and his great-grandchild Jace; Brian, and Nicholas; his son Matthew Malik and his wife Stephanie and his grandson Jacob; and his daughter, Kelly Espinoza and her husband, Joseph, and his grandchildren, Mason and Scarlett.
Henry began his higher education at John Carroll University and later received his degree at The Ohio State University.
Henry was an accomplished Metallurgist and Physicist working on National Defense and Aeropace projects with Brush Beryllium, TRW, and Battelle Memorial Institute for DARPA, etc.
While most everything he worked on was highly classified or top secret at the time, (and he could really keep a secret), many things have been declassified, but the list is too long to put here today.
He acquired his love of Texas while driving his family all over the country on summer vacations, finally taking a position at Cameron Iron Works and moving down in 1980.
Thank you, Cameron Iron Works.
After Cameron, he started his own companies and worked his tail off for the next 30 years.
We are proud of his work, but more proud of the man.
He lived to take care of his family and as Mom's health challenges greatly accelerated, he just kept trying to do it all himself, almost costing him his life.
His final years were extremely challenging for him, but mom and The Church kept him going.
There's nothing, except God, his family and his dog Frankie, that he loved as much as The Ohio State University football team, hot coffee, cold beer, olives, pickles, salami, mustard, rye bread, well you get the picture.
"Strangers are just friends I haven't met yet" was a belief he held until the day he died.
Thank you, friends.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Henry's life will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 3131 El Dorado Blvd, Houston, Texas 77059.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Henry's memory to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
May Henry rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in the memories they shared with him. Please join the family in remembering and celebrating the remarkable life of Henry Joseph Malik.
