Nyla Kay Richardson

Nyla Kay Richardson - age 75, of Howell, Michigan, passed away surrounded by her family on January 20, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 27, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Interment will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. 

She was born Nyla Kay Ryan, on August 21, 1949 to Mary Corene Ryan and Robert Ryan. On October 16, 1966 she married the love of her life, David Lewis Richardson. She gave of herself to the community through her time as a social worker for the Salvation Army and as a caring friend and neighbor. Nyla was a mother to more than just the nine children she raised. She would listen and help anyone she could without hesitation or judgment. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Corene and Robert Ryan; sisters, Nevelda Frazier, Diane Richards, Michele Ryan; brothers, Clarence Daniel Ogden, Michael Ryan; granddaughter, Amara Primrose Dolinger; grandson, Christopher Ouellette; and great-grandson, Malachi Wozniak. 

She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, David Richardson; her daughters, Corene Richardson, Leilani Ward (Wayne Ward), Renee Dolinger (Chris Dolinger), Erica Richardson, Dawn Richardson; sons, Ryan Richardson (Becky McConnell), Thomas Richardson (Dawn Tryba), Lance Richardson (Tana Goudeseune), Quentin Richardson (Stacey Houghton); 21 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Not to mention the many, many nieces, nephews, and chosen family.
