On a beautiful Sunday in Midway, Alabama Curlie and Rosie Graves gave birth to a daughter named “Odessa”. During her life she was a Cosmetologist and later became an Administrative Assistant for the city of Tuskegee, Alabama. She also was very involved in the movement against discrimination and voters' registration.
She became a child of God at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama. She later joined Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee Institute, Alabama. She served faithfully in several roles.
Odessa moved to El Paso, Texas from Tuskegee, Alabama in 2016 to be with her family. These eight years were filled with love, admiration, fun, laughter, and spending time with her great-grandson.
Odessa was married to the late Robert James Moore and was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters Yvonne Moore-Catley, Willhemenia Davis, Son- in- law Ronald Catley, (3) grandchildren, Shaun and Briana Catley, Russehitta Green and one great-grandson, Josiyah Brock, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive, with a Prayer Service to commence at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist 3201 Frutas, 79905, followed by a Committal Service at 12:30 pm at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Please visit her online memorial at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
