Odette Nicolau, 69, died Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Baypointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health.
Born in Lajes, on the island of Flores in the Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Flores. She came to the United States in 1973 and settled in Stoughton, where she lived until moving to Brockton in 2019.
Odette worked at Datel in Mansfield for over 25 years before retiring several years ago. She was a devoted sister and doting aunt to her nieces and their families, never missing an occasion to celebrate each of them. Odette forgot no one and always made everyone feel so special. She was a kind, loving and caring person and to know her was to love her. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Odette is survived by her sister Matilde M. Trigueiro and her husband Daniel of Flores and her nieces, Ana DeAndrade, Dulce Reilly, and Doreen Trigueiro. She was the great aunt of Daniel, Jacob, Aidan, Ella, and Ethan.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Odette’s memory may be made to The Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
