Odilon Lopez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eastgate Funeral Home - Garland on Feb. 2, 2026.
Odilon

Odilon "Renee" Lopez, beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend,
peacefully passed away in faith to be with our Lord on January 10, 2026, in Dallas,
Texas. He was born on August 10, 1971 to Odilon F. Lopez and Felicitas (Rodriguez)
Lopez in Dallas, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents Odilon F. Lopez and Felicitas (Rodriguez)
Lopez, sister Estelle Christine Gonzales Escamilla, brother Albino "Bino" Lopez, sister-
in-law Sandra M. Lopez, nephew Jeffery David Drummond, and numerous beloved
aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many dear friends.
Renee was a devoted family member who leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication
to caring for his beloved family. He is survived by his brothers and their families: Edward
Jim (Eddie) Lopez, John Paul Lopez and wife Norma Lopez, Louis Anthony "Louie"
Lopez, and sister-in-law Gisela Lopez. He is also survived by a host of nieces and
nephews- Jesus "Jesse" Escamilla, Jr., John Phillip Escamilla, Marco Antonio Escamilla,
Vanessa Christine Escamilla, Linda Maria Sanchez, Rebecca Leanne Lopez, Joshua
Cole Lopez, Jeremiah Austin Lopez, Michelle Wright, Anthony Wright, and Matthew Brian
Drummond. He is also survived by numerous great- nieces, great- nephews, aunts,
uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends, who will all miss him dearly.
As a child, Renee was the epitome of cuteness, with an adorable smile and a great
personality. He received lots of love and attention from family, neighbors, and friends
alike. It was not unusual for his parents to get requests asking Renee to visit or just
simply join in on fun outings such as going out to the lake on a boat or playing miniature
golf. Later on in life, Renee could often be seen driving through town in his beloved Ford
Mustang. He was always known for his fun- loving spirit and playful demeanor, his great
listening skills, and his love of good music. Renee really enjoyed watching football in the
company of his family and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Renee was always
willing to take care of those around him, especially his parents and siblings, and always
showed incredible love and dedication to his entire family.
