Odis Wesley Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this life on March 11, 2026, at the age of 90 in Snead, Alabama. Born on March 14, 1935, Odis touched the lives of many with his unwavering spirit and zest for life.

Odis is survived by his beloved wife, Tommie Williams and his children, sons, Perry Williams (Jana), Terry Williams (Rhonda), his daughter-in-law, Sherri Williams, and son, John Jackson (Joanna), and daughter, Vicki Swann (Doyle). Each of Odis’s children carries forward his legacy, enriched by their experiences with him. His grandchildren, Brooke Jones (Chris), Rachel Longshore (Caleb), Katelyn Oestreich (Clint), Hannah Emery (Daniel), Jay Williams, Drake Williams, Eason Williams, Lindsey Veazey (Heath), Will Lyle (Felicia), Sally Whaley (Josh), and Riley Swann (Casey), were a source of immense pride and joy for him. Odis is also survived by his sister, Cornelia Jones, who will deeply miss his warmth and camaraderie. Odis is also survived by a host of great grandchildren.

Odis’s life was a testament to his passions and interests. He opened the Whippoorwill Golf Course in 1993, where he spent countless hours doing what he loved – golfing, farming, and tending to yard work. At the Club House, he found joy in sharing conversations with friends and customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie. His devotion extended to his church community, where he took pleasure in leading hymns and connecting with fellow worshippers. Odis embraced life to its fullest, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emmie Timmerman Williams, as well as his beloved son, Phillip Williams. Odis also mourned the loss of his siblings, including brother, Russell Williams, sister Polly McAnnally, brothers, Lesley Williams,  T.C. Williams, Abe Williams, and R.D. Williams, and sister, Bonnie Davenport. Odis was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sunny Veazey (Matt).

Pallbearers honored to carry Odis to his final resting place will be Jay Williams, Drake Williams, Eason Williams, Daniel Emery, Chris Jones, Clint Oestreich, Caleb Longshore, Riley Swann, and Will Lyle.

A visitation for Odis will be held on March 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at Antioch Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest at 1:15 PM.

Odis Wesley Williams leaves behind a rich legacy filled with love, laughter, and countless good memories. Those who knew him will carry his spirit within their hearts, inspired by his approach to life and the joy he brought to everyone around him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
