Ogle Oxford, age 97, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ogle was born on September 26, 1927, in Dunham , Ky, to Herman Oxford and Daisy Williams Oxford.

Ogle is survived by his four children, Kathy (Larry) Yeary, Dennis (Beverly) Oxford, Kenneth (Donna) Oxford, and Lori (Bill) Norton; his grandchildren Courtney, Kara, Ryan, Julia, Brittany, Ashley, and Evan; and his great-grandchildren Grace Temple, Riley and Blakely Branch, Abby and Jake Partin, Colston, Caden, and Cameron Fales, Aja Mei, Adelaide and Amelia Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years, Bobbie Chadwell Oxford;his siblings, Edward Cheatham, Gene Cheatham, Pauline Cheatham Wells, Welford Oxford, and Jeanette (Clyde) Stogner; his grandson Parker Scott Reagan; and his granddaughter Amanda Kaye Norton.

Ogle was a devout, steadfast Christian who served as a deacon at Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church for 53 years. He became a member of Trinity Baptist Church in 2024. His unwavering faith provided him comfort and peace throughout the many days of his long, rich life. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord, and he wanted the same for all people.

He was a talented artisan who created many elaborate paintings and intricate woodcarvings. Much of his work centered around nature, along with American Indian and Western themes. This skill and craftsmanship extended to various projects and renovations that he completed with his own hands for his family home. He also enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, and reading in his free time. He was a successful businessman who owned and operated the Army Navy Store with his wife Bobbie in downtown Middlesboro for 20 years.

Ogle leaves us a legacy of love, dignity, perseverance, and kindness. He survived the Great Depression in his youth, and he witnessed many injustices and hardships throughout the chapters of his life. He had opportunities to turn hard and cruel, to treat other people poorly, but he chose to extend a hand and help others when he was given a chance. He chose grace. When he saw an opportunity to do better, he did better. Ogle was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He added a great deal of happiness and goodness to the world, and we are better off for it. His loved ones will miss him greatly, but we look forward to reuniting one day in our Heavenly home.

The family of Ogle Oxford will receive friends on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.
