OBITUARY Oksana Zimovec
DOB: July 22, 1936.
Oksana Zimovec reposed in the Lord on Friday, March 14th 2025. Oksana was born in Kharkiv Ukraine on July 22, 1936. Her parents, preceding her, were her Father Feodor Zimovec and Mother Maria Lavrentia Zimovec, both being from Kharkiv, as well. Oksana and family came to the United States through Ellis Island. She turned 15 years old on the boat to the states. She was a High School graduate, academic, and was an accomplished entertainer winning the "Ted Mack" amateur hour at 15 years old playing accordion in 1951. Oksana worked for Smith Kline Beechum for 20 years where she worked up to a supervisory position by retirement. Oksana was married 25 years with three children, Victor Poletajev, Spouse Robin Poletajev, Natalie Poletajev Kraese, Spouse Ronald Kraese, and Gregory Poletaev, Spouse Dawn Poletaev. Grandchildren, Nicholas Kraese, Gabriela Poletaev, Alexandra, "Sasha", Poletaev, and Isabella Poletaev. Oksana was a resident of New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and lastly Florida where she resided with daughter Natalie. Oksana loved her family, her "four legged family", and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. At the end of her life, Oksana was taken care of by her loving daughter, Natalie Kraese, son-in-law, Ronnie Kraese and grandson, Nick Kraese.
Services were for family in Florida and later in New York on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, where she will be interred with family. Arrangements are through Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home.
