Ola Madelyn Claiborne of Gallatin, TN passed from this life into the arms of our Lord on February 19, 2024 at the age of 90. She is survived by sons, Roger Claiborne and Mike Claiborne, and granddaughter, Caroline Wilson. She is preceded in death by husband Billy Claiborne Sr. and son Billy Claiborne Jr.
Madelyn was born to Audie Hermas and Ola Madelyn Borden on March 23, 1933 in Clay County, TN. She moved to Gallatin, TN with her parents and nine siblings as a child where she remained for the rest of her life.
In 1950, she married Billy Eugene Claiborne and their union produced three sons, Roger, Billy Jr. and Michael. Billy and Madelyn remained married until his death in 1977.
Madelyn faithfully attended the local Church of Christ with her children, and her commitment also led Billy Sr. to faith in Christ later in life.
Madelyn worked as a homemaker, raising their three boys and helping Billy in their business B&B Motors in Gallatin. She also had a talent for hanging wallpaper, an activity which she turned into a successful business for several years.
Madelyn made friends easily and enjoyed an active social life. She was known and loved for her easy going nature and generosity. She was always hospitable, opening her home to those who needed a place to stay and providing a place to gather for holidays.
Madelyn was dearly loved by her immediate family and by an extended family of nephews and nieces. Her loving memory will always remain in our hearts.
