Mother Ola Mae Stuckey-Cummings, peacefully transitioned from her earthly life into eternal life on Monday, July 21, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1927 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Sol and Gussie Stuckey, the second oldest of 4 sisters. She accepted Christ at an early age. Mother Cummings graduated from Georgia Baptist College and attended Albany State College in Albany, Georgia. Mother Cummings married the love of her life, Dorsey Cummings, and moved to Flint, Michigan in 1949. To this union 5 children were born. She united with the Canaan Baptist Church where she was an active member for over 75 years. There she served on the Mother's Ministry, the Mothers Club, Kitchen Ministry, Women's Missionary, Canaan Missionary Choir, was an active participant in Sunday School, and Bible Study. She was employed by Flint Community Schools and worked at Dort Elementary School for several years. Mother Cummings was truly the epitome of a Christian Woman of Faith. It was exemplified in her walk as one, whose unconditional love for God and His children, was far-reaching and demonstrated in her concern, care, and service to others. She also dedicated herself to making hospital visits and you would think she owned Hallmark. Mother Cummings sent cards to everyone for every occasion and on top of that, she would often add a little "something-something" to the envelope. This virtuous woman was generous and willing to sacrifice her own needs to help others. Mother Cummings loved her family, dearly, and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She brought as much joy to them as they brought to her and so many precious memories have unfolded over the years. Mother Cummings had a passion for reading and solving crossword puzzles. She was an avid Bible Scholar. When she played Bible Trivia at home with the family, she would score more points than anyone. Mother Cummings held a special place in the hearts of the Oak Park children on Baker Street, North Street, and the surrounding area. They loved the treats that she provided them. She was one of the most kindhearted and giving individuals that you could ever meet. No one who crossed her path was a stranger. She was a mother and a friend to so many. She was affectionately referred to as "The Angel from Above." Mother Ola Mae Cummings leaves to cherish her memory: five children: son, Dorsey Cummings, Jr. of Flint; four daughters, Cassandra O. Cummings of Cincinnati, OH, Linda G. Buford, Lisa M. Blackwell (Stephon "Jody") all of Grand Rapids, MI and Vernita L. Morgan (Ellery) of Flint; two sisters, Dorothy Pearson and Ollie Smith both of Dublin, GA; four grandchildren, Paul Larthridge, Jr. (Samantha) Marnita D. McGregory, Joy O. Woodall, and Alona F. Blackwell; five great-grandchildren, Terry D. Michael, Taneya L. Michael, Zoee L. Fri, Soraya E. Kosters, and Izaya C. Larthridge; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Mother Cummings was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dorsey Cummings, Sr.; parents, Sol and Gussie Stuckey; sister, Essie Holder; granddaughter, Crystal Larthridge; son-in-law, Kenneth Buford; brothers-in-law, Lavoiza Pearson and Bryant Smith.

It is a day of sadness but also one of joy as now she has her crown. Your mother was one of my greatest supporters. I thought of her often and her wonderful smile and very soft voice. Our prayers and condolences are with the family ad you celebrate her home going. Much love to you all. Brian Coles & Family.
