Olga was born in Palmerton, PA to Katarina Vidra and Joseph Pastier. She spent her youth on the family farm in Nova Dedina, which is in current day Slovakia. She moved back to the states in 1950 and resided with her sister and her brother-in-law in NYC. She married her husband Peter in 1953 and they had five children before moving to Haverstraw in 1965. Olga raised her children on Village on the Green before going to work at the great A&P Tea Company, where she worked for more than 40 years. After becoming a widow in 1981, she met and later married George Blizard. They built a life together and enjoyed 34 beautiful years before George's passing in 2019.
Olga was an active parishioner of St. Peter's church since 1965, and a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters and the Haverstraw Senior Citizens. She enjoyed going on trips, especially to the casinos. She loved spending time with family, playing cards, working on word search books, crocheting, dancing, singing, and humming. She was an excellent cook and an avid baker, and loved vanilla ice cream and anything chocolate. We will all miss her wide variety of Christmas cookies, her laughter, and her generous heart. Olga will live on in our hearts forever smiling and be missed by all who knew her.
