Olga S. Krubsack, age 96 of Nekoosa, WI died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Visitation will be held at Church on Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
Olga was born May 28, 1925 in Pittsville, WI to William and Sophia (Tritz) Thielen. She graduated 8th grade from St. Joachim's School in Pittsville in 1939, then from Catholic High School in 1943. During high school she worked at S.H. Hatch Mercantile Store and Wood County Telephone in Pittsville. She then worked at Preway Inc. from 1943 to 1945, then at Nekoosa Port Edwards Paper Company. Olga was later employed part time at Sacred Heart Parish and JC Penny from 1978 to 1989. Olga married Melvin Schalla at Penns Grove, NJ on August 12, 1944, together they had 2 children Sharlyn and Paulette. Melvin died April 17, 1948. She then married Gordon Krubsack on October 27, 1952, together they had 3 children Gail, Larry and Kathleen. Gordon died March 22, 1989. Olga belonged to the Senior Citizens Club and was active in managing the bingo for seniors. She was an avid bowler and in November 1980 she was the first woman in south Wood County to bowl a perfect game of 300. Olga was secretary treasurer for the Tuesday Tea League & Sunday night mixed couples at Evergreen Lanes for 20 plus years. She also belonged to the Senior Citizens Club and Port Edwards Card Club from 1992 to 2016 as treasurer and vice president. Olga enjoyed embroidering, dancing, bowling, playing cards, reading, canning and gardening.
Olga is survived by her children: Sharlyn (Marvin) Passehl, Paulette (James) Sullivan, Gail (Ronald) Anderson, Larry (Carol) Krubsack, Kathleen (David) Davis, 12 grandchildren: Dale (Susan) Passehl, Daryl Passehl, Chad (Heather) Sullivan, Criste (Joe) Greening, Brynn (Todd) Richtmyre, Daniel (Lauren) Anderson, Michael (Samantha) Anderson, Brian (Sarah) Krubsack, Kelly (Mike) Bluell, Samantha (Dylan) Emerson, Joey Mae Davis, Jesse Davis, 28 great-grandchildren and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Melvin Schalla, second husband Gordon Krubsack, grandson Cory Sullivan, siblings" Mariezita (James) Boyles, Odelia (Raymond) Back, Orion (Wilhemena) Thielen, Eugene (Geraldine) Thielen, William (JoAnn) Thielen Jr., niece Judith Toles, nephew Richard Back and niece Janice Votava.
A memorial will be established in Olga's name at a later date.
