Olga Vega

Olga D. Vega, 92, of Ocala, Florida passed away at Cates Hospice House on June 16, 2021. She was born November 26, 1928 the daughter of the late Ramiro and Juana Guzman Alvarez. Olga was a native of Havana, Cuba before moving with her family to Miami in 1960. They moved to Marion County in the 80's. In 1948, Olga married the love of her life, Angel, and together the two shared 61 years of love and happiness before his passing in 2009. Olga was a beloved mother and in her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, and crocheting.  She was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala for many years. Olga was also a liver transplant recipient in 1994 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida thanks to her kind donor's family.

Olga is survived by her daughters, Olga Fry and Martha Vega.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband and her parents.

A memorial service for Olga will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470) on Friday, June 25 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
