Born in St. Louis to Olinda Kathryn McLeod (née Franz) and Harry James McLeod, Kay's childhood was shaped by both loss and resilience after her father was killed in WWII. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Goddard; her brother, Harry "Mac" McLeod; her stepbrother, Roy Nickels; her stepsister, Loretta Nickels; and her stepson, Michael Goddard Jr.
She is survived by her brother, Lloyd Wayne Nickels; her beloved aunt, Mary Franz; her three daughters, Toni Allardice, Tammy Miller, and Teri Simpson; her stepson, Frank Goddard; and a wide circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her warmth, her laughter, and her knack for speaking her mind at exactly the right (or sometimes the wrong) moment.
Kay's life was never defined by silence. She will be remembered for her strength, humor, and the way she made sure her voice was always heard.
In lieu of a service, she asked for donations to be made to the Rescue One charity.
