Age 92 of New Brighton; formerly of Paynesville, Bloomington, and Minneapolis, MN.
Olive passed away peacefully with her family by her side; she is joining her loving husband of 70 years, Jim Morgan, predeceased in 2018. Survived by 12 devoted children and their spouses: dozens of beloved grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Also, many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Retired from Bloomington School District where she worked as kitchen staff at Valley View Elementary - she knew how to feed a crowd! Throughout her life Olive had a passion for taking care of her family with old-fashioned do-it-herself common sense, practicality, and hard work. She was proudly and lovingly devoted to her husband and many family members, giving everyone a share of her warmth and love. No person could walk through her door without hearing her ask, "Do you want a cup of coffee or something to eat?". The family is especially grateful to Olive's youngest daughter Jennifer Morgan, who dedicated her time and expertise in keeping Olive safe and cared for at home, as was her wish. Many thanks to Olive's hospice home care team, Breck Homes, and all of Olive's caregivers, who treated Olive so kindly. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her family and many friends, who will cherish the memory of her friendly and familiar greeting: "Yoo-Hoo!"
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday June 1, 2022, 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton. Visitation 1 hour prior. Luncheon to follow mass at St. John's.
Private family burial at a later date, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
