Our dear, sweet Olivia Marie Hewett passed away unexpectedly and far too soon on Sunday, May 18, just ten days after celebrating her fourth birthday. The outpouring of love she received during a brief time in the hospital was palpable and a reflection of the indelible mark our girl made on the world.
Olivia was a beloved baby sister, yet she clearly was the boss of the family from the beginning. She was a fierce, funny, spunky girl who was always in charge, and her adoring big sisters loved her for it.
Feisty, full of energy and always up for fun, Olivia was just as likely to get caked in mud and covered in paint as she was to get her nails done in a pretty shade of purple-her favorite color. Her adorable smile and big round cheeks sparked joy in everyone she encountered. Olivia loved snuggling up to watch Bluey, belting out Taylor Swift with her sisters in the backseat, spending quality time with "Nana" Fran and "Gram" Joan, cuddling with Daddy, her best buddy forever, and being by her mom's side as much as possible. Even though she was getting to be a big, independent girl, Olivia wanted nothing more than for Mommy to scoop her up and hold her tight-a request that was always accommodated.
Olivia is now being held in the arms of God, and though we will miss her with every ounce of our being here on Earth, we know one day we will be reunited.
Olivia was born on May 8, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Alison Solley Hewett and James Michael Hewett. She will forever be loved and remembered by her parents, along with sisters Georgia and Ellie; great-grandparents Patsy and Ainslie Hewett, grandparents Fran Bennett, Mike Hewett and Jim & Joan Solley, aunts and uncles John Hewett, Emily Sansbury & Joshua Brown, Tim & Carey Solley (godparents), first cousins Meg, Ava, Leah & Ben Solley, and many other extended family members. Preceding her in death include great-grandparents Fred & Ida Blocker, Bud & Cush Solley, Al & Dolores Ubinger, grandpa Greg Bennett and cousins Jamie Fiaschetti, Heather Rohrman, Paxton Lowrey and Arlo Thompson.
Our family would like to extend a sincere appreciation for all of the first responders and hospital staff who cared for our precious Olivia Marie. They are true angels on earth and we are forever indebted to them for all of their efforts to save her. We are immeasurably blessed to be supported by our loving family, incredible friends and our strong Lourdes community. You have all carried us and will continue to do so as we move forward to honor our sweet Olivia for the rest of our lives. Thank you all.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, KY 40207. Following the Mass, Olivia's family warmly invites all to join them for a celebration of her life-a time to share memories, offer support, and honor the joy she brought to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Olivia's honor to the Sarah Gayle Gibbs Memorial Foundation.
