Oma Connie Cooper

Oma Connie Cooper, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Asheville, NC. Born on December 24, 1966, in the serene town of Transylvania, NC, she was 58 years old at the time of her passing.

Oma dedicated much of her life to her work at the Balsam Grove Post Office, where she served with diligence and a warm smile that brightened the days of all who crossed her path. Her love for her family was paramount, and she cherished every moment spent with her treasured grandchildren. Always eager to learn and explore new ideas, Oma was recognized for her intelligence and curiosity, attributes that inspired those around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Cooper; her mother, Evia Eubanks Cooper; and her daughter, Sandra York. her partner, Daniel Owen. Oma leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her surviving family: her daughters, Katie Owen and Melanie Morgan; and her adored grandchildren, Jesse Jones, Chyanne Jones, and Charlie Jones.

A Celebration of Oma's life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care has been entrusted with the honor of serving the family during this difficult time.
