Omar Alvarez

Our beloved Omar Michael Alvarez, was called home on November 16, 2025.
He was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 8, 1972 and remained there for the majority of his life before making Austin his home for the past 20 years. He is preceded in death by his two fathers, Gilbert Alvarez and Eugene Alvarez.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tanya; daughter Mercedes Josephine; his mother, Josephine; his stepmother, Delia; brothers, Gilbert, Albert, Christopher, Gene, Eddie and Bob; sisters, Jennifer, Lori, Kristianne, Cindy and Ann; his in-laws, Janie, Albino, Sylvia, George and Helen, his faithful dog (and best friend) Bruno; as well as many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Omar will be remembered as a hardworking man who enjoyed the simple things in life. His faith in God guided him throughout his life and his dedication to his family, his work, and his beliefs was evident in all that he did. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas, 78752.
