Omega Chambers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home - Lewisville on Mar. 2, 2026.
Omega Midge ("Honey") Ledbetter Chambers, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2026, at 87 years old.

Midge was born on December 8, 1938, to Sherrod and Ruth Lollar. She grew up in East Texas, Abilene, Texas, and Oklahoma. During her incredible life she accomplished many things and served as a great inspiration to those who love her.

As a kid, she was spunky, smart, and caring, traits she maintained throughout her 87 years on this earth. To know her was to know laughter, generosity, and strength. Her life was defined by creativity, hospitality, family, and faith.

When she was 18, she married her high school sweetheart, and they started their lives together. They owned several Dairy Queens throughout West Texas as well as the Icee Company of Lubbock, Texas. For many years, she also served as president of the Band Boosters in Colorado City, Texas. They were respected figures in their community. When she became a mom, she was an active presence in the lives of her two children, supporting their interests, cheering them on and loving them unconditionally.

In addition to being a wife, mother, and businesswoman, Midge was an artist of many mediums. She was a painter, a pianist, a writer of short stories, and an actor. For many years, she enjoyed performing in productions at the Colorado City Playhouse and her paintings adorn several of her family members' homes.

Midge was also adventurous. One of her proudest accomplishments was getting her pilot's license, and she took great pleasure in flying her family around. She also enjoyed motorcycle trips with her husband, Loyd.

Midge loved to host. Growing up, some of her fondest memories were of family reunions hosted by her grandparents. She continued that legacy by making her home the hub for many family reunions, holiday gatherings, and block parties alike. "At Honey's house, you could have whatever you wanted," and she made sure that was true.

Most recently, she enjoyed bi-weekly card games with her friends, a tradition they have held for 20 years. Though she didn't host these games, she did bring her famous cheese logs on occasion and generously shared them with the owner of the restaurant where they played.

Midge was a beloved member of Flower Mound Baptist Church and an avid student of the Bible. Her life was dedicated to following Jesus and loving him more deeply every day. Her greatest joy was to see others come to know Him as Lord and Savior, and she was no doubt greeted with the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant" when she opened her eyes in Heaven.

Midges were adored by family and friends alike. She was a loving wife, a compassionate mother, a caring sister, and a kind grandmother. The lives of her family were shaped by her faith, her love, and her care.

Midge is preceded in death by husbands Loyd Ledbetter and Doyle Chambers, by her father, Sherrod Wesley Lollar, mother, Ruth Lollar, brother, Bill Lollar, and sister, Peggy Phillips. She is survived by her sister, Kay (Dan) Schewe of New Orleans, Louisiana, son, Dennis (Cathy) Ledbetter of Edom Texas, daughter, Sherrol Ledbetter (Charlee) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Shannon (Maymie) Ledbetter, Brad (Rachel) Ledbetter, Brooke Ledbetter, and Lyndsey (Jonathan) Brown, Brannon Ledbetter (deceased), grandaughter-in-law Becky Cosner, and seven great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
